12/02/2009 Our Liquor Laws are a Licence to Swill
The NZ Business Roundtable hosted an evening of debate and discussion surrounding a big New Zealand talking point - our liquor laws. The event was kicked off with Victoria University's top debaters facing off over the moot "Our Liquor Laws are a licence to swill". A Panel Discussion chaired by Roger Kerr, made up from Greg O’Connor of the NZ Police Association and Liz Read of Lion Nathan followed. The evening was concluded with a time to network with free pizza and beer.

15/03/2010 Big Social Issues Debates Wellington Semi-final
The New Zealand business Roundtable is pleased to announce the commencement of the 'Big Social Issues Debates', a nation wide university debating competition.
The top debaters from Otago, Canterbury, Victoria and Auckland universities will face off on some of the key social issues facing New Zealand, with moots on education, welfare, health, crime and superannuation.
The first semi-final will be held at the Mac’s Brewery in Wellington at 5.30pm on Thursday March 18 and the debaters will tackle the moot Our Police Deserve to be Armed which should shape up to be a heated debate from both sides.
Following the debate there will be a panel discussion featuring experts on the topics and a time for networking with the Roundtable providing pizza and drinks for all attendees.
